Around the Showground Market

  • Roasted vegetables

Winter is officially here and you'll find plenty of seasonal winter vegetables aviailable at the market now.  Locally grown pumpkins, beetroot, potatoes, carrots, brocolli and other family favourites can be found at a range of stallholders.  Or why not try some vegetables not widely grown in South Australia check out some of the stalls this month.  Why not try kohlrabi from Patlin Gardens or purple cauliflowers from Alnda Farms?  Or globe artichokes from Virgara's Garden or some different varieties of potatoes from Hart's Vegetables?

  • Alexandrina Cheese

For certified organic produce, visit the Bull Creek or The Vegie Basket stalls at the market each week, or The Food Forest when they attend fortnightly.

Have you heard some of our regular stallholders on the radio in recent months?  The market has been advertising on Nova 91.9 with a series of commercials featuring three of our stallholders.  Bob Heath from Najobe Beef, Tim Neilson from The Wild Apple and Rebekah McCaul of Alexandrina Cheese did a great job in sharing their perspective of the market.  You can listen to their adverts here.

  • McCarthy Orchards

Apples and pears are in abundance at the market at the moment with our selection of stallholders representing some of the the best areas of the state for growing these seasonal fruit.  With McCarthy's Orchards from McLaren Vale, Ashbourne Valley Orchards from the Fleurieu Penninsula, The Wild Apple and Otherwood Orchards from the Adelaide Hills and The Food Forest from Gawler we have a great regional selection.
